Response to COVID-19

An important message from the Pastors and Board
for God’s faithful people who meet together at HBC

It is with a great deal of sadness that we must inform you that both services scheduled to take place on Sunday 22 March 2020 have been cancelled. We will inform you about future services as new recommendations and regulations emerge in this constantly changing landscape.

We have sought advice from those who are best positioned to provide it and have acted in the best interests of us all.

Whilst the risk to health is negligible, particularly in light of the risk mitigation in place (social distancing, hygiene measures, length of service) the most recent directives coming out of Canberra, and the Baptist Association, places a high risk on the reputation of HBC should we gather. This is a risk we are unwilling to take.

We know this will disappoint some. This is very difficult for us and we ask that you try to understand the impossible position church leaders are finding themselves in.

As a church we will continue to support one another through prayer and every means at our disposal. We invite you to please stay in touch as a weekly schedule of events that will contribute to our continued sense of community is communicated in the coming days.

In the meantime, I’d like to remind you about the Hughes Baptist Podcast available on Spotify and iTunes, as these will continue to have content regularly uploaded.
